Our Creation Journals (notebooks)

funschoolHere are some pictures of our Creation Journals.

Whenever one of my kids create something -like with Lego or K’nex or Blocks or whether they build an obstacle course or a sand castle – I take a photo and paste it into a word document and add lines then print it out and the kids then write their notes about the creation. My kids LOVE it. They LOVE looking back over their creation notebooks – it is a record of the things that they have made over the years.

It also helps them to write instructions on how they made it or to describe the creation.

Here are some examples from my kids notebooks-Click on each picture to see a closer look

Do you have a child that is interested in PLANES or flight?

Well, here is an EXCELLENT resource that is put out by-

In The Hands Of A Child hands of a child.com

It is a project pack on planes. It has EVERYTHING that you need to learn more about planes! BUT it is MORE than just learning about planes.

plane

It touches on the history of flight and famous aviators. It also comes with a timeline that the student can complete – we love to study the history of EVERY topic so this was extremely useful for our family!

Now if you are a SCIENCE family – you will love the activities on Aeronautics, aerodynamic forces, motion and speed and don’t worry about knowing all this information yourself as the pack comes with a guide with illustrations that explain the terms.

If your child just likes the LOOK of planes – the project pack helps the child discover the different types of planes by making a shutterbook. There is easy to read information on the parts of a plane which can be incorporated into a matchbook.

Now if your child has a dream of becoming a pilot one day – this is the perfect project pack!. There is a section on -discovering what a modern day pilot does , what their job entails and what you need to become a pilot.

That’s not all – if you have students who love GEOGRAPHY (that’s us!) then they aren’t left out. There is information and an activity to use their mapping skills.

This is a very complete project pack – it goes into the role of airports, airport controllers and runways! There are vocabulary lists and a list of books that you might want to include as part of your project. There are also some wonderful sites for making paper aeroplanes listed.

It is just such a FUN project pack especially for those who have any interest in planes and flight.
Here is the link where you can purchase the pack and to see images of a completed folder.Planes Project Pack
